My IT Project - Mobile APP Magnetto

Role: Project Manager IT - full delivery ownership for a SaaS mobile app product, leading a 10-person cross-functional Agile team. 


Summary: Managed end-to-end delivery of a SaaS Scan&Go mobile app for retail — leading a 10-person cross-functional team through Agile Scrum/Kanban for development and Waterfall for retailer system integrations.

Project Description


Magnetto is a retail-tech product company building a mobile Scan&Go platform: shoppers scan items and pay in-app to skip checkout queues, while retailers get loyalty tools, personalized in-app promotions, and real-time footfall and spending analytics. The product targets a well-documented retail problem — long queues cost stores sales and drive customers to competitors, and demand for self-checkout has grown steadily post-COVID.


A SaaS product delivered to retail clients has to work on two tracks at once: fast-moving Agile development inside the team, and slower, structured integration work with each retailer's existing ERP and checkout systems. Managing both tracks without one blocking the other is the core PM challenge on a project like this.


As Project Manager IT, I owned delivery of the mobile application (built on Xamarin, C#, .NET) from requirements through release — running Agile Scrum/Kanban for the development team and Waterfall for the parallel workstream of integrating with each retailer's ERP and checkout front-end systems.


What Was Done


Delivery & Methodology

  • Managed several concurrent project workstreams within the same product simultaneously

  • Ran Agile (Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban) for software development, and Waterfall for retailer/system integration workstreams

  • Facilitated the full Scrum ceremony cycle: backlog & sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives

  • Implemented PMI PMBOK-aligned project management standards across the team

Planning & Scope

  • Defined project requirements and technical integration points with retailers' ERP and checkout front-end systems

  • Built project scope and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

  • Created and released the agreed product roadmap

  • Set up task time tracking and estimation practices for the team

Team & Stakeholder Management

  • Led a cross-functional team of 10: 2 Business Analysts, 2 Backend Developers, 2 Mobile Developers, 1 UI/UX Designer, 1 DevOps, 1 QA, 1 Marketing & Sales

  • Coordinated internal resources and third-party vendors/partners for on-time, on-scope execution

  • Owned communication and reporting to customers and stakeholders

  • Facilitated team collaboration, resolved blockers, and provided regular feedback

Process, Change & Tooling (Easy Project Admin)

  • Administered Easy Project as the team's PM tool: users, roles & permissions, task types & statuses, workflow configuration, Scrum/Kanban board setup, dashboards & reports, project templates

  • Tracked project performance and drove continuous improvement of the development workflow

  • Managed change requests — identifying and implementing corrective actions as scope or integration requirements shifted

Product & Technical Context

  • Delivered a SaaS mobile app (Xamarin, C#, .NET) covering: skip-the-queue scan & pay, in-app payment, personalized promotions, and loyalty/rewards

  • Coordinated with the team across the CI/CD and QA toolchain: GitLab, Docker & Kubernetes, AppCenter, TestProject

  • Rollout structured across 4 stages: (1) initial pitch & requirements gathering, (2) ERP/checkout integrations & feature development, (3) pilot testing & optimization, (4) commercial rollout & ongoing support
